Technician Class in a Weekend

2. Bring A Copy of your drivers license or state ID for testing documentation.
3. Apply for, receive and bring with you your FRN from the FCC

3. Bring a Basic Scientific Calculator that you are familiar with for the test. It should be a scientific calculator capable of basic math, Trigonometry, Square root functions. An example is the TI 30 basic scientific calculator is available from many office supply stores or on line. ($10-20). YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO USE YOUR PHONE OR A PROGRAMABLE CALCULATOR FOR THE TEST!!!
4. Bring a desire to learn and to ask the instructor for clarification if you do not understand something that has been studied or taught. The classes will be a chance to answer any confusion you may have, but you must cover the subject on your own first and have specific questions when you come to class. This class is targeted at passing the test. Do not be fearful of the material that confuses you, it will be easy to understand in the class. We will review each section but we can focus on an area someone is having a problem.
5. The Technician License exam (aka element 2) will be given at the end of the 2 day class series. You must pass the 35 Question multiple choice test (28 correct answers) to receive your license. Free is good, repetitive self testing is great aid to success. 7. Possible expenses: The cost of taking the test may be as high as $14 due on test day. A calculator estimated at $20 if you don’t have it. The Ti-30 was under $10. A Book at $32 depending on new or used. An FCC fee of $35 after you pass the required test.
